Thursday Ramblings.

.....It was ALMOST a twelve hour day yesterday. I rolled my happy self out the gate at pretty close to 6PM. I felt like it really WAS New Year's Day, but without the added benefits of booze. :-)

.....It wasn't that it was BAD, per se. For the first time since taking on this job in February I felt like I kind of knew what I was doing. It's an amazingly good feeling when you don't have to ask questions about what you are attempting, or else attempt something just to have someone else pick it apart so that you can rebuild it correctly.

.....Part of the day was also spent in writing up my end-of-the-year assessment. I wonder if our Fearless President and his Sidekick actually considered how many hours of paid government time was going to be spent on actually writing the required self-assessments under the new NSPS ratings system. Over the past week I have spent a good eight to ten hours on this thing, some of that actually on paid government time. I can tell you that I was not alone in doing this either. Many people have waited until the last minute. And this is increasing competency and efficiency? Once again, your government dollars at work.

.....Am looking forward to the weekend. I don't have to be anywhere. I can sleep in on Saturday morning. Huzzah! I can get some chores done around the house. I can work on some card weaving. I can maybe spend some time doing absolutely nothing! What a concept!

.....Ack! Gotta get a couple of circlet orders out of the way as well.

.....Am also looking forward to the Harvest Dance on October 18th with Friar Sion and Kassian. I've missed dancing since I stepped down as Dance Minister. I've been halfway tempted to volunteer to teach a dance or two (but I think that you have to be a certified artist to that these days :-)). I'd love to do a little Karabushka. Maybe a couple of bransles that I personally like. Kassian and Sion have a definite idea in mind though, so maybe I'll not intrude. :-)

.....I'm scattered today. Gonna run and see if getting started now at work will get me out of here earlier later on today. :-)
