.....I was tagged by several people, which I'm not quite sure is fair either. :-) But I offer the following bits of information, or ways not to run a life. :-)
1. Have a brother named Sean who lives next to my father in Sunnyslope (outside Bremerton). He is a good six inches taller than myself, skinny, with bright red hair. You couldn’t get two brothers with such different looks and attitudes towards life than Sean and myself. We always got along well together, but I haven’t seen either him or my father in about five years now.
2. I am a very shy person. I was much worse when I was younger, but between my daytime job and the SCA I’ve developed quite a few work-arounds (that do not involve alcohol). I am still an introvert and need quiet time alone to recharge my batteries, but really love being around my friends.
3. Lived with a married woman for about a year and a half when I was 25. It was a very weird relationship. Her husband was in the Navy as a Master Chief Corpsman (medical, not sure if I’m spelling that correctly). When Sheryl and I moved in together, Robert had just taken off to spend six months at South Pole Station with limited contact with the outside world. But Robert and Sheryl had an ‘understanding’. When he was at home, they were a devoted couple, when he was off-station (which was the majority of the time) they both did whatever they wanted. I was the one who could never get used to it. Whenever Robert was due to come home, I had to move into my own bedroom. I finally had to move out, I am just not that enlightened :-).
4. Was a band geek in High School. Took part in most of the major band groups; marching, pep, wind ensemble. Had a great time. Played whatever was needed most, anything from clarinet / bass clarinet to sousaphone. Marched in the Portland Rose Festival, something like a five mile parade route. Played with the marching band at Boeing Field for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, when she stopped in Seattle.
5. Graduated as an honor student from high school. Did a half-hearted attempt at college before becoming an apprentice at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard when I was 20. I finally did get my Associates degree from Olympic College in 1992.
6. Spent most of my free time between 21 and 25 drinking my way through life. I lucked out big time by not turning into an alcoholic. The Port Orchard police (affectionately known by me at the time as the ‘Port Orchard Piglets’) got to know me pretty well. It wasn’t a Saturday night part at the house unless they showed up. Boy, talk about being stupid. We’d do anything to get into trouble. One guy showed up with a gun one time and we, being drunk, started shooting into the woods just to listen to it. Well, duh, the neighbors called the police. The guy with the gun managed to hide it before the police could see it. Another time we were all drunk and stumbled down to the local 7-11 and tried to make off with stuff without paying for it. We weren’t being sneaky about it or anything, just something stupid. We got arrested for that one. Resulted in a $50 fine and 90 days (suspended). At about 25 I started growing up (thankfully).
.....Everyone I know has been tagged at least once. Except for Alys Firekeeper (Kim Knapp), so I'll tag her. :-)
