Spenserian Sonnet No. 5
Jul. 8th, 2006 08:22 am.....This in no way should be construed as a response to Laurellen's challenge. :-) That I'm saving for after July Coronation. :-)
In heaven's sea she circles in the air,
The destiny of life seen in her flight.
The shape of wisdom only she will dare,
On a path with no source nor end in sight.
In silence Fate spins and weaves her threads tight,
In patterns chosen at the Master's will.
The circle arcs around, its cycle bright.
Awaiting the completion of this cloth's mill.
Yet these wings that glide do so on a bill,
That fickle Nature may claim at any time.
The warm breath that blows forth for sails fill,
Will only stay for reasoning sublime.
Existence may move in an endless ring.
But man does not see all that lifts her wing.
.....I'm going to straighten up the house quickly so that the housekeeper is once again blissfully unaware of what a slob I really am. Then I'm going to make the run to Orting. I want to see it in an SCA setting one last time. It's a place that holds a lot of good memories for me. I will miss it.
