Sonnet War - Response to July 3rd.
Jul. 22nd, 2006 11:57 am.....Greetings,
.....My response to Marquessa Laurellen in the Sonnet War. My apologies for taking so long to reply. :-)
In battles many I will persevere
My journey's long course will be straight and true.
Temptation will not lure me with her leer.
Nor weariness with soft feet cloud my view.
She sees before her but a simple fool.
A man like others of no consequence
What she seeks is not in my reach to rule,
No matter how sincere my eloquence.
I care not, my heart was hers long ago.
Sweet Venus did awaken love's warm spring.
And cause the gardens of my soul to grow.
In her full beauty my life's joy did sing.
I will attend, it matters not how far.
For she is my path and bright guiding star.
.....An English (Shakespearean) Sonnet, as was presented in Marquessa Laurellen's volley. :-)
.....Arontius.
