English Sonnet.
Feb. 19th, 2007 11:33 am.....Greetings All,
.....It's been a little while since I expended the cranial matter in order to produce a sonnet. But last Saturday at Candlemas I was reading something that Baron Sir Richard had recently written and realized how much I was missing the exercise. So I pulled out something I had started on a while back and finished it up. I'm a bit rusty right now, so please excuse some of the disjointedness, but hopefully it'll help get me back into a routine. :-)
Across cold earth Spring's warming breath is felt.
A quickening pulse from a soft caress,
Awakening life in an icy melt.
In joy this vibrant essence starts to press.
With mighty shouts bright blossoms do erupt,
Sprays of colour overwhelm any thought.
In a dance to defend from the corrupt
Their fragrance will ignite what passions wrought.
In tempo with the beat of nature's heart,
The workers then arrive in waves of flight.
The flowers give what they came to impart,
That will engender many children bright.
Renewal of life is our future's hope.
Love is the key to how all life must cope.
.....Aaron / Arontius. :-)
