The Church Setting.
Mar. 11th, 2007 07:20 am…..I sat in St. Paul’s Church yesterday in Port Gamble. It was just a few minutes away from the start of Scott and Karen’s (Skepti and Ciar’s) wedding. I was looking around and thinking what a beautiful place this setting was. The Victorian styling with the high ceiling and the wonderful design work. The details were amazing. There is something about a church that evokes deeper feelings; which, I suppose, is why they are built the way they are. The fact that we were present for a wedding ceremony just deepened the feeling, I’m sure.
…..I looked over and saw the most Beloved Tamm and thought of how beautiful she looked in that setting. I told her as such and she shrugged it off, thinking that perhaps I was either biased or being an ‘Eddie Haskal’ on her. But I was totally being honest in my assessment. I don’t know if the setting made her features more noticeable. Or whether the church made me think of our own upcoming ceremony, but none the less I swore at that moment that I was looking at the most beautiful woman in the world.
…..The flashing eyes that sparkle with intelligence and wit. The more you look in them the more you realize that the best course of action in any debate with her would be capitulation. The enigmatic smile with the corners that are curved ever so slightly, as if she is sharing some internal joke with God. The curve of her face. I was enraptured. :-)
…..It was at this moment that Cedric walked into the room and turned towards the Beloved Tamm. He took her hand and declared to her that she was the most beautiful woman in the room. Thank you Cedric! Once again I owe you much. What perfect timing. :-) How could Tamm argue when two men, in the space of just a handful of moments, declared her as beauteous!
…..It was at the reception a short time later when Khalja was talking to me and saying just how lucky Tamm and I both were for finding each other, but at this moment I have to say that by far I am the most honored man on the planet that she has agreed to become part of my life.
