Trying To Catch Up. :-)
Mar. 29th, 2007 06:23 am.....Greetings All,
.....LJ has been rather exciting as of late. Between the Beloved Laurellen's rants and devices for ensuring world domination to the Peer Pages to Harry Potter, it feels like a whirlwind of activity. :-) Here I am feeling a little out of the loop for not posting in a while. :-)
.....Work is kicking my butt right now. Holy Cow! Turn on the computer at 6AM and it seems to be a personal challenge to my employer to see exactly how much he can pile on my desk before I run screaming down the hall. Monday and Wednesday night I arrived home from work and all I could bring myself to do is vegetate on the couch. The TV was on but I couldn't tell you for the life of me what was playing. That's getting pretty bad. The employer decided that he wasn't having enough fun either, so he up'ped the ante a little on Tuesday. I was offered a GS-13 position again. This time with no traveling strings attached. It was as a Planning Manager for a ShipAlt Team here at the Shipyard. My first inclination was to laugh hysterically as usual. But was reminded at a strategic moment that the increase in pay amounted to several hundred more per paycheck. That stopped the laughter, but made the saying 'no' much more difficult than usual. The boss is getting pretty good at this manipulation game. :-)
.....Haven't been eating that well lately. Probably a good reason why I'm feeling so run down so often. Need to concentrate on that some. But the good news is that I'm not gaining any weight. I'm still hovering between 235 and 240. Would very much like to get down to my goal weight of 210 - 215. Exercise will be a requirement. But getting started is difficult. The days already seem too crowded, carving more time out of them is rather daunting.
.....Looking forward to a couple of excellent things though. This weekend I get to spend with the Beloved Laurellen. I didn't get to go over there last weekend and am finding myself missing her very, very much. Need to go and regenerate some in her presence. I had to laugh the other night when she mentioned how awed she felt amongst all the other peers making their introduction on the Peer Pages. I have to say that she is getting a taste of how I feel whenever I'm around her for any length of time. She is a rather amazing person on so many levels.
.....Saturday afternoon is the Pelican meeting. My first one as secretary. I did manage to eck out a lame agenda. But it was a start and I did manage to get it out at least a couple of weeks before the meeting. As I learn the process it'll get easier. I have it lucky actually, I'm co-secretary with Anne-Marie, who is going to take notes and post them after the meeting. So my work basically gets cut in half. Running the meeting will not be difficult at all, that's what I do for a living. :-) It is rather amusing that it'll take two of us to do what was done by Countess Elizabeth on her own. :-)
.....Next weekend is NORWESCON!!!! Huzzah! I am sooooo looking forward to geeking out for five days at the Double Tree at SeaTac. I think that will go a long way towards refreshing my spirit as well. I'm not even going to think about work as I attend SciFi panels, watch movies, see artwork, costume watch, etc. I'm sharing a room with Kim Knapp (Alys Firekeeper) to save some money on the hotel expenses, so that will be fun. Baron Sir Richard might spend some time there as well. I'm looking forward to that as well.
.....O.K. gotta run. Everyone take care.
.....Check-List:
.....6 days until NORWESCON.
.....63 days until JUNE FAIRE.
.....158 days until I leave the Kingdom Chroniclers Office.
.....163 days until the Beloved Laurellen and I are married.
.....In 164 days, my new life begins. :-)
.....Aaron / Arontius.
