Holy Crap!!!
Aug. 21st, 2007 07:30 am.....The second level boss came into the office this morning and told me that the Shipyard's Chief Engineer approved my taking on a Planning Manager position. This was the last major hurdle to cross to get my promotion all lined up.
.....If I sound a little surprised, I guess that I am. I come from the production side of the house. I don't have a college degree (well, I have an Associate (ATA), but that doesn't count). So I thought for sure that there would be a lot of reluctance on their part. But no, he thought I'd make a good fit.
.....Wow! I'm rather pleased at that. May not sound like much, but from my rather blue collar point-of-view, it's pretty cool.
.....Now all I have to do is make the next roster of qualified people and I'll be picked up. Then I'm going to push like hell to get rid of my Emergent Work job. I can't wait to concentrate on one thing instead of the fifty I'm doing now.
.....Now if I could just get my computer to operate correctly for me, I'd be having a good day. Gotta love that lowest bidder IT support we get here at the Shipyard. :-)
.....Aaron.
