.....Yesterday was truly a sucky day, in a monumentally, epic way...

.....Monumental Bad Day The First: THL Angharad forwarded me an e-mail from the Seaside Church group. This is where we hold our weekly Fight Practices and Monthly Business Meetings. Last month a Montessori school moved in upstairs and put in a lot of money to upgrade the building security. They also spent a great deal of money in the purchase of all kinds of learning aids. I'd been warned about messing with their stuff, and making sure that everything was put back in its proper place when we were done for the day. I toured the area before locking the doors after the Tuesday night Fight Practice and thought that everything had been set right.

.....Well, apparently the Montessori School people were REALLY upset when they came in on Wednesday morning. Things were moved. Items were broken. Someone had found a supply of gumballs, ate them all and left the wrappers piled up in one of the rooms. The one room I didn't think that anyone had used. Stupid me.

.....So, next Monday the Church officials will meet and decide if we'll be allowed access to the classroom area anymore. They are even thinking of telling us to find a new location for our meetings and practice.

.....This made me very sad. Rhys was one of the kids there. TBT and I have both questioned him pretty closely on what happened. We think that he wasn't part of the problem, but we were not eye-witnesses. And being the stepson of the Seneschal, I have to be particularly conscious to not show him any favoritism in enforcing new rules on children's behavior.

.....Epic Bad Thing the Second: I received an SF-50 form yesterday which stated that I lost my GS-13 rating on April 12th. Right now I'm being paid as a GS-12. The big boss is out of town, so I ran around for at least an hour trying to figure out what in the hell happened. If I screwed up, you'd think that someone would tell me? No one could give me an answer. The stand in big boss finally got a hold of the Uber-boss and it seems he didn't have a hand in the decision either. So now we're all seriously scratching our heads in amazement. We'll see what happens.

.....Bad Thing the Third: I had discussions with no less than four people yesterday concerning June Faire. There are a lot of unknowns this year and people are NERVOUS. I can understand their nervousness, I am as well. But I think a lot of that nervousness stems from the UNKNOWNS. The site is beautiful, and relatively flat. But it has never been tried. We're watching it being cleared now and the clock keeps ticking louder and louder and June Faire draws nearer. The truly hard part is letting Alis do her job as Autocrat Team Chairwoman and not try to micromanage her because of our nervousness, nor project our nervousness on to her. She has got enough on her plate without having to manage us as well.

.....But at the same time we need to be able to see that the Barony is protected as well. If something needs to be done to make June Faire come together, it is important that we speak up. Especially those of us who have the experience of one or more June Faires under our belt. It's a delicate balancing act. Alis is a smart lady though and I'm really relying on that fact.

.....Bad Thing the Fourth: Rhys so wanted some actual family time last night. I've been so busy for so long now that it has been difficult to break away to give him that time. I'm starting to feel pangs of guilt. Will have to work on that.

.....So, there you go. My bad day in a synopsis. There are lots of details missing from it, but now I have it in black-and-white to review and angst over at my leisure.

.....But tomorrow IS Friday. Yeah!
