The Intimidation Factor.
Nov. 30th, 2008 08:37 am.....Of course I consider myself incredibly blessed and lucky to be married to the most wonderful TBT. How I fell into that most special of circumstances I still don't fully understand, but I'm certainly not going to argue with it, that's for sure. :-)
.....There are those times though when it is very, very difficult to not feel just the littlest bit intimidated. I look across the room at TBT and the realization hits that this person is much more intelligent, much more creative, much more...everything, than I am. I sometimes get the feeling that maybe I should simply acknowledge myself as the Neanderthal that I am, go and start picking for fleas on the cats as I go 'Ug, ug, ug'.
.....TBT is finishing re-upolstering a chair, remodeling a room, appliqueing a couple of pouches, working on store-front web-sites, painting pottery, setting up a new method of running arts and sciences competitions, setting up a computer network, teaching apprentices, managing our finances. And, on a whim, manufactures a period loom on the scroll saw because it looked interesting.
.....I wonder if there are support groups out there for husbands who feel like total morons when compared to their wives. :-) Maybe I should start one? Within the context of the SCA? We could meet at SCA events like an AA group. :-)
.....Will have to give some thought to this. :-)
.....Ug! Ug!
.....Aaron / Arontius.
