.....It was a somewhat busy day, but a nice and relaxing one as well. Which really made it a nice way to recover from the last week.

.....Went to Olympic Coffee this morning to support Master Andras and his photography showing. Andras has a very nice eye that has really just grown better with age. The colors that he captures are just amazing. And the shapes. I have a picture that he took of TBT and Rhys that sits on top of my computer at work. Both of them are smiling in a warm and special way that has a way of cheering me up when things get bleak at work. Andras has a nice way of capturing peoples' spirits well.

.....Elisabeth Trostin was doing a good job of promoting Andras there as well. :-)

.....After the visit we dropped off some clothes that I had washed for Mom and then scooted back to the house so that TBT could get ready for her class. We weren't quite sure who all would show up, but it ended up being myself, JR, Brighid, Madrun and Constance. It was a nice group, with a nice energy to them. TBT was in her element, as only she can be when talking about her needlework / fibrearts. She can teach a rock to embroider and applicae if she really wanted to do so.

.....TBT had some kits made up and we learned how to cut out shapes from silk and linen and apply them to fabric. Some good tricks with iron-on transfer sheets were learned. I sewed down a red silk-linen 'leaf' to a piece of linen with sewing thread. I did a pretty decent job, although I was way too slow. I need to practice some more so that I could pick up the pace.

.....I did a second leaf in an outline of embroidery thread. I started out with a chain stitch, but I didn't like the way it was looking so I undid my work and did a buttonhole. I finished the leaf and liked the way it looked. But thought I should have done something different when I say the leaf that Brighid sewed down. Her buttonhole stitches were very close together, a lot closer than mine. I found myself liking those close stitches a lot more.

.....TBT showed us a lot of her embellishing tricks and tips and we came away with a lot of new and interesting ideas. I really enjoyed the class and was amazed at how fast the four hours went by!

.....After class we chatted a while and then it was off to dinner at Petr and Kierran's in Port Orchard. It was our re-scheduled Household Christmas Dinner. The one that was re-scheduled due to snow last December. :-) Petr and Kierran did a roast beast that was absolutely delicious! Lots of good conversation ensued. Isketol was there for a while. Ralph, Ellen, Bernie and Tsuruko were there. Brummbar was there (although he fell asleep a couple of times :-)). Gwen was there as well with Bridget in tow.

.....We were starting to fall asleep around 9PM, so we decided to trek home. All in all, a good day. I'm happy, especially since TBT is sitting here right next to me. :-)
