The Chase - An English Sonnet.
Aug. 7th, 2010 10:21 pm.....I kept seeing stars chasing the setting sun in my day-dreams today. So I had to put it to rhyme...
When fire - y Sol's eye flames of victory,
And coalesces in armies of bright light.
That slowly fade in distant mystery.
Fields of war that are blanketed by night.
Crows feast on offerings of the brave dead.
In raucous chorus they do sing loud songs.
To honour bounty so they might be fed.
For in renewal they may right all wrongs.
New soldiers lively step in for the dance.
Lights sparkling in a military march.
Across a velveteen sky they advance.
To boldly follow them in heaven's arch.
The maker's hands set all of this adrift.
Eternal chase given us as a gift.
.....In whimsy, Aaron / Arontius.
