Well, the argument is that all paying members are the decision makers of a group, because they've actually gone that extra step to make their voice count by paying for a membership and supporting the organization. So, following that logic, if they are members, and their vote has weight, how much should their opinion be taken into account when event planning?
I'm not actually saying that this should be an accepted practice, I'm just throwing it out for consideration. If I stopped to consider every opinion of the 200 paid members of the Barony, I'd never get anything done. But it is a consideration.
