While I totally respect Their Excellencies' opinions and wishes for their Bardic Champion, while I personally think that the presentation for Bardic entries should be rated higher, I am still of the very firm opinion that your entries had the greatest historical depth and dimension of all the entries there. I had no doubt that you would win and that's not just because we're 'dating'.
Perhaps you can use this nagging idea of yours to stretch yourself? If Their Excellencies want more performance, perhaps you should work up a couple of performance pieces? On the Gemshorn? Write a sonnet about DL or Their Excellencies and present it?
Either way, I will bite you really hard if you say that you will not wear that cloak. I've got a good set of choppers and nobody wants a trip to the hospital for explanations and stitches.
