.....Last night was Newcomer's Night at Fight Practice (traditionally the first Fight Practice after June Faire). It was a pretty good turn out. I showed up in garb, which is way to freakin' large for me now. I was dragging clothes bits everywhere. Found out there is only so many loops that you can make with a belt before it starts looking more like a huge blob of leather hanging off of your waist rather than fake SCA 'Medieval' style belt it was supposed to resemble. :-)

.....Looked at 'final' lay-outs for the ercis at J.C. The Marketplace is officially shutting down from taking applications (we're at 40 merchants). Pre-registration ended yesterday. We are on a roll. Finished out homework to the town of Port Gamble. Talked to the web-site coordinator, who is going to be taking updates even while he is away from home next week. The Marshallate Liaison, Conchobar, is just tying up loose ends on his portion of the erics. All we need is formal permission from the Crown to go to 35x35 erics. Looks like we have a good chance at snagging a civic group to play crossing guard, which will make the town happy as well as those camping on the other side of the road. More or less settled on where we are going to put Handicapped Parking. All in all a pretty good evening.

.....Going to meet with the sign coordinator this evening to discuss what signs we have and what needs to be done in the next four weeks. Should not be a long get-together. The hardest part may be trying to get to the signs in the storage unit. :-)

.....Everyone is heading out for Iron and Ink this weekend. I was initially tempted at first. But this year is just too freakin' busy. And if I had I might have missed out on going on pilgrimage to see Marquessa Laurellen.

.....The SCA has REALLY taken over my life this year. I'll be glad when July Coronation is over, it'll be nice to have a little breather for a while. Although I am addicted to the rush of satisfaction that happens when an event comes together. So I may go into withdrawal come September or so. :-) But I've started thinking about what happens after September, 2007. I will be giving up the Kingdom Chronicler's Office then and I'm already starting to wonder what I'll do. I'm trying to convince myself that I need to slow down and take some time off. But I've discovered that if you operate at a certain level of busyness for an extended time, it becomes the norm in your psyche. Back off from that norm too far and it feels like something is majorly missing. Very disconcerting. Will have to see if I can find some sort of compromise on activities between now and then.

.....On the 24th, Catelin, Xian, Elsbeth, and Sir Richard are getting together over at Catelin's house. I'm looking forward to that. We haven't gotten together to get silly for a while.

.....Gonna try and capture a little time this weekend to tackle the jungle of the front yard. It's downright embarrassing how tall it is right now.

.....Gotta work on a couple of sonnets as well. The need to get something written is steadily growing on my mind. :-)
