.....It was a busy week at work. Had a number of emergent jobs come up that had us really hopping. It has been a large number of weeks since I was offered a promotion at work and I'm still waiting for it to happen. It is rather frustrating, but I've become accustomed to their process and am currently figuring out how to juggle these two jobs at once. I still don't perform either one of them wonderfully well, but I've learned how to be moderately efficient at getting things done for both.

.....The new element this week was the new ratings system that has been implemented as part of President Bush's NSPS pay-for-performance system. I was given a stack of papers and told that the new job would basically require that I justify my position and my portion of the 'pay pool'. It is really quite complex. You basically get to write a paper extoling the virtues of yourself and what you've done to earn the portion of the pay you think you deserve. So, I need to start keeping a journal of all that I do and especially any 'atta boys' I receive along the way. Then in September of each year I get to write a paper on just how wonderful I am. And this is supposed to save the government money how?

.....Sigh! Bernie came by yesterday and looked at Cassie (the Audi). He said that it was totalled. I had been hoping all week that he would come over and tell me that it was totally fixable. I'm rather bummed. I really enjoyed driving Cassie and will miss her. But Bernie already has his eye on another car for us. A Subaru this time. The pictures look pretty
good. We're going to get a look at it tonight.

.....But today is about Legos! :-) We're going to Lego-land in Bellevue. I'm hoping that they have the plans for the Cathedral we saw at Brick-Con. :-)

.....Then a trip to John's music, and probably a stop at Trader Joes. I feel like one of the Country Cousins making the once-a-year trip to the 'big city'. :-)
