Fabulustre - Seeking Advice.

.....Greetings All,

.....This last week was spent working on some circlets for my little hobby business, Ingasbo. The process itself has really become quite automatic, so I've been looking for ways in which I might be able to cut down on the time it takes to produce each circlet. Right now, from start to finish, each one is taking approximately two hours to produce.

.....The longest stretch of that production cycle is the polishing sequence itself. After I cratex the edges of a circlet, I put them on the polishing wheel with some Fabulustre polishing compound. I like the results of Fabulustre in that it creates a really nice shine to the metal and also provides a thin coating of compound that protects it from corrosion (and helps keep it clean and shiny even after being handled by oily hands).

.....The problem with Fabulustre is the clean-up. The compound residue left behind sticks to the metal like cement. Usually I dip the circlets in some gun cleaning compound and wipe them down (this removes about 80% of the residue). Then I take some polish wadding material, like Nevr-Dul, to the metal to remove the rest of the residue. It takes a lot of time and effort to finish removing that residue.

.....So, I'm wondering if there is either a better polishing compound out there that I can use (rather than Fabulustre)? Or is there a better technique to removing Fabulustre compound than what I've been using?

.....If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it. :-)

.....Thanks, Arontius / Aaron.
