Post June Faire Recovery Day

.....It's the day after June Faire and all through the house...:-)
.....I was so tired this morning, more so than usual after June Faire. Most years I would be awake by 7AM and pulling the last few items from the U-Haul. This year, I was still asleep at 7AM. Very unusual for me. But I finally slogged out of bed and went off for a Starbucks run at around 9AM. From there on out I was approximately two hours behind schedule for everything that had to be done. :-)
.....After Starbucks I ran off to Port Gamble for the post Faire clean up of site. As usual there was not a whole lot left over to clean up. We did manage to find the tire iron of mine that was dropped during the whole moving Sylverstone out of the mud pit that happened yesterday. Lucky find! I thought that thing was gone for good.
.....When I made it to site Talia was already there. Deirdre showed up soon after. Followed by Tymothy, Their Excellencies and Talon. We had trooped over the whole site in just over an hour. We met up with Tom from Port Gamble, who said that any damage done to site would basically disappear in about two weeks time. So we finally stopped worrying so much about what we did in the mud over the weekend.
.....After the clean-up we went over to the General Store for a drink and some breakfast / lunch for those who wanted it. We talked over plans for June Faire and changes we might think to do in the future. Depending upon how things work out, His Excellency and I both have ideas we might want to see come to fruition in the next couple of years, so you may see one or both of us on the Board. Brighid also reminded me of An Tir's 30-Year Celebration and the site she wants to see it happen. So there are lots to think about for next year.
.....Deirdre asked a lot of questions on the upcoming Baronial Succession. It is so hard to believe that it has been almost five years since we started this process the last time. I remember thinking then that it would be impossible to replace Their Excellencies Ralg and Tsuruko and all the good They brought to the Barony. Now I find myself thinking the same thing about Cedric and Brighid. We've grown up a lot as a group under Their leadership and I will miss Them a lot. There are times I wish that Coronets could stay an indefinite period of time, just like Gerhard and Amanda. But I remind myself that these are people who want to do things that don't involve leading a group of Labrador Retrievers.
.....I've been incredibly lucky in that I consider Cedric and Brighid as good friends of mine and will continue to do so the day after the Coronets are removed. Maybe even more so in that I'll get to tease Her Excellency even more than I do now, and in public! :-)
.....About 1PM ran home, picked up TBT and Rhys and ran to Crappy Chinese Buffet. The food is as bad as ever. :-) Tym and Talon met us there and we talked about things we could do with June Faire. Lots more things to think about.
.....Time to start the big push towards a Board for the next June Faire in 2011. I've got ideas on what to do with the event as well percolating in my brain. I'll probably dump a few in an upcoming June Faire LJ Post.
.....By this time I realized how late it was and RAN home to get the U-Haul turned in! It took almost an hour to get the rest of the stuff removed from the back end before we ran to the Keyport Budget Truck Rental location. Luckily, I've been renting from the same lady for about four years now. She likes us and actually neglected to charge us the late fees, and even took a percentage off of the top as a return customer. If you are thinking you need a truck rental, this is the place to go. The Storage Unit across from the Keyport AM-PM.
.....I worked on removing June Faire from the inside of Lobelia. Worked on it about an hour before I finally gave up. I'll work on her a bit at a time over the week and next weekend. The garage is a disaster area, so that will need a little love this weekend as well.
.....Not looking forward to going to work tomorrow and re-entering the 'Real World'. Sigh! I should take a pool on how long it takes before I get a lecture from the Big Boss on being away so long.
.....Ack! Also not looking forward to logging into my e-mail either.
.....Only four days left this week though. I could get used to that schedule.
.....Oh, and our I-Touches came in today. Way Cool!
