.....We arrived home a short time ago from the pack out of all the Baronial equipment needed for June Faire. It was amazingly fast and efficient! We had at least eight people there, maybe a few more, and we finished the large storage unit in about thirty-five minutes. It was the conga line of power! All we needed was music with a good beat to it! Then we ran over to the heated storage unit and had it loaded up in less than twenty minutes. I drove through the gate of the large storage unit complex at almost exactly 6:00 PM and we drove out the gate of the heated storage unit complex at about 7:00 PM. That was probably the shortest and easiest load up I think we've ever done.

.....Some of the credit goes to a number of people who have worked hard over the past couple of years to cull down the amount of 'stuff' we keep stored in the units. There were years in the recent past where we would load up a couple of hundred poles to pavilions that we had no clue if all the pieces were there or not, and ended up not using them and keeping them in the U-Haul all weekend, just to be unpacked and put back into the storage units on Sunday. None of that this year!

.....I picked up the smaller U-Haul this year as well. It was the 16-foot truck, instead of the usual 24-foot that I reserve. I was a little trepidatious, but my uneasiness was unfounded. Cool!

.....Took a half day off of work today. It has been crazy at work lately, crazier than usual. I was taken 'off line' when the big boss realized that I had not finished my qualification after holding the position of Planning Manager for a year and a handful of months. He went ballistic on the mid-level boss, who then turned around and gave me the lecture of my lifetime. I was un-phased however as I was expecting it, and calmly reminded him of how much work he has piled on to my plate over the past year. I reminded him of the fact that I've been working regular ten-hour (and sometimes more) days, only getting paid for eight, just to keep up with the workload. If he wanted to bust me back to a GS-12, I was more than ready to go, with a smile on my face. But damn it! He swallowed the rest of his speech and informed me that I was to pass all my duties on to my Planning Engineer and get my damned qualification done.

.....Too much reading! You've never read anything as boring as a government instruction. Ack! It's been nine hour days all this week reading instructions. But I'm getting close to being done. Just hope that I don't forget everything I've just read over the weekend of June Faire. :-) Thankfully I took the big written test today before I left. That will give me a day or so to study some more when I go back to work next week before the next test.

.....Out to site tomorrow morning at 0900 with the U-Haul. I'm going to unload everything, help TBT lay out the A&S area if she needs help, then I'm going to run back home and finish packing Lobelia. I got a goodly portion of that done today. Just the regular clothes to pack, and some odds and ends, then I can take Lobelia out to site and set her up for the weekend. I'll help with the set up, of course, but am still undecided as to whether or not I'm going to stay on site Thursday night. Part of me is thinking that a good shower and a real bed would be good before a busy June Faire weekend. But, you know, I don't have any heavy-duty responsibilities this weekend, I realized today. I will volunteer time of course, but wow, it feels weird not to be in charge of anything for June Faire. It feels vaguely unsettling. :-)

.....Petr is going to come to dinner on Saturday. Way Cool! I miss him at events. It'll be good to have the old group together for a little comaraderie on Saturday. :-)

.....I've packed the Recorder and the Gemshorn though. A little music would be good. Maybe some dancing as well. I should pack the Bard-In-The-Box and the dance music, in case I can't seem to find any live and willing musicians.

.....Found a BUNCH of the camping stuff in the garage! Yay! Almost made me want to park Lobelia and pack the pavilion into the Baronial camp area. But the Rhys Monster would never forgive me for doing that! :-) I'll just make sure that I pile the stuff up neatly and have it ready for An Tir / West War and July Coronation. I'm looking forward to camping in a pavilion for a weekend or two. :-)

.....Ack! Reminder to self! Must remember something to give for Seneschallate taxes on Saturday! Can't forget! Just wish I knew what to give! :-)

.....Arontius (Just Arontius today, it's June Faire time!!! :-)).
