.....I made it through the day, and without even wanting to kill someone. :-) I suppose it helped that both the mid-level boss and the big boss were both NOT at work today. I was able to get a head start, answer my e-mails and defuse all the criseses left over from my being gone, all before they, helpfully, step into the picture. :-)

.....Looks like I get to spend a week in Crane, Indiana, the last week of April, and then fly immediately to Kings Bay, Georgia for a meeting the first week of May. I need to get a hold of the Goddess Callista and see if I can snag some time to stop by and say Hi, and see Casa De Brown. :-)

.....I left at a normal time today, which felt strange. But it meant that I was going to be in a good mood for the Baronial Business Meeting. No snapping at people, or biting my tongue. It was a taste of what work will be like about a year from now, when I work for different management. Now that I've re-tasted it, I REALLY want it.

.....Only foo was the fact that someone broke into my office and rifled through my desk. Only thing of value they took was a really nicely appointed first aid kit I had purchased a couple of weeks ago for the work area downstairs. But it was an indication that I need to put better locks on the door, and make sure to actually lock the office when I'm away for any length of time.

.....Received word today from Mario at the Silverdale Beach Hotel, and immediately turned it over to Isketol, which was difficult. I'm excited about a Kingdom Event in Dragon's Laire again. But I need to let someone else experience the fun and excitement of doing the process. I'm going to have to practice sitting on my hands and keeping my mouth shut and letting Isketol do the leg-work. It's much harder than I ever imagined! I wanted to start wheeling and dealing with Mario myself immediately! I wanted a contract now! Now! NOW! :-) Isketol's biggest headache with the whole event may come from dealing with excited Peers who want to 'help'. :-)

.....Good Business Meeting. Had some good discussion on utilizing the VFW Hall for more activities. Definitely a win-win. We have space that is centrally located and available for more meetings and activities during the month. The VFW Folks are willing to make really good deals for use of the space as well, which also makes another income stream for them to help make repairs to the hall, which needs it badly!

.....We disccused various Arts and Sciences meetings. We talked about additional Fight Practice gatherings. We even discussed moving the Business Meeting to another night to allow Fight Practice to have the hall for four evenings a month, which would hopefully support the martiallate activities better. Heavy Fighting definitely suffered during this last winter by not having an adequate location to allow fighting.

.....We need to find another location that is covered for heavy fighting. I'm just not sure where. We've looked all over the county a number of times. Any locaton that fits our needs is either expensive, or is not available on a day / time that supports us. But we need to keep looking and be innovative in our ideas, try new locations, ask people questions. There is something out there, we just have to find it!

.....Turned in our request for use of the Fairgrounds for June Faire. No guarantees of course. But we have to start somewhere. I envision being at Port Gamble at least for the next couple of years, but we need to have a back-up plan in motion. The Fairgrounds are the next best alternative. Although I keep working on the owner for the Port Orchard Airport. I talk to him on an almost weekly basis, either him directly or his friend at work who runs the Tractor Club that regularly holds events there. I'll wear him down eventually.

.....June Faire is two months away. Must remember to get the insurance squared away pronto! Equestrian is covered. Just do not have OPG as a named insured on the general liability. Some confusion on that one. Need to remember! Don't forget!

.....Falling asleep now and must go to bed. Nighty night! :-)

.....This is kind of cool, in a hilarious sort of way. On Spike T.V. is a 'Combat Comparison' between a 15th Century Knight versus a 17th Century Pirate. The comparison is character to character using the weapons of the time for each of them to see who would prevail in a face-to-face combat scenario.

.....It's called 'Deadliest Warrior'.

.....What I'm finding funny at the moment is that the show's commentators seem to think that the fact that the 15th Century Knight had more 'honour' than the 17th Century Pirate and this somehow gave him an advantage in combat?!

.....I don't get it. But the combat against the test dummies, with 'realistic' ballistic gel damage, is funny to watch. :-)

.....Aarrrrr! Avast, Ye Matey's! :-)
