.....And I'm at Fight Practice. Looks like they have the wireless back up and operating. That's great! I can get online and check my e-mail and update my Live Journal. :-)

.....Something for Brighid before I forget. There is a blog I follow for a guy who works at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. He works in the maintenance department and they have a lot of free time on their hands. What he's decided to do is a Shakespeare Readers Theatre! He invited a group of his co-workers over to his room and they each took parts and read them as an act of Reader's Theatre. They started with 'The Tempest'. It was shorter and had some good parts to it. He wasn't sure how it would go over, but it was well received. So well received that they are scheduling more plays with more people. He wants to jump into King Lear. It has some dramatic parts, but may be a bit tough. We'll see how it goes over.

.....Another good day at work. I didn't SEE any of my management at all today. So another day of getting things DONE! It was busy though and by the time I made it home I was tired. But could not slow down as we had a June Faire meeting scheduled for 5:00PM SHARP at the VFW Hall.

.....The Principal from Mountain View did not call me back today. I'm torn between 'letting sleeping dogs lie' or tracking her down and systematically calling her until she does return my phone call. I'll probably give her one more day before I call and leave another message.

.....Ran into TBT who'd had a tough day with the Rhys Monster. There is not much I can do except offer sympathy, which I try to do as well as possible. I had my own upbringing, which is much different than the one Rhys has had, so I try not to let that colour my judgement. Although it is tough at times. I would never have been allowed to get away with the attitude that Rhys does. But that is my life, not his. Must remember that.

.....Came home to more e-mail traffic from my newly found Aunt. :-) She was slightly offended when I said that her home of Bend, OR, was in 'the Boonies'. :-) She said that it was 'the largest city in Oregon east of the Cascades!' Which I suppose is an endorsement. :-) Aunt Sherilyn wants us to come and visit her badly. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet. I was in Bend a couple of years ago for a Crown event. It was a long, long drive. But a pretty area. And it really was out in the middle of nowhere. :-)

.....Baronial Customary is on my 'to-do' list and I will kick it off tomorrow after work. This is my official reminder to myself to do that. I have a tentative plan in mind, we'll have to implement something that is efficient (moves quickly) but reviews everything as needed.

.....I'm excited with a couple of things with June Faire. We have Dragon's Mist coming up to 'officially' man the Entrance on Saturday and Sunday. Sophia is negotiating a payment plan for this function. This was an idea promoted by Her Excellency Brighid and I think it is an excellent idea! A group who needs to make some money earns money by helping out at a large SCA Demo! And we don't have to worry about finding bodies to fulfill a function that is always problematic. I think this is a win-win for both groups. As this idea grows it could really take the Kingdom by storm.

.....There is some confusion as to the duties of the Publicity Coordinator. I'm kind of kicking myself for not sitting down with them and making sure we all had the same understanding as to what the job was. I think that before the next Board is appointed we need to go through the job descriptions and revamp them to ensure they are complete and that each Board member understands completely all the aspects of their job. Board Member Positions keep evolving. Sometimes slowly, but the jobs are definitely different than they were just a few years ago.

.....Tensions are definitely higher at this meeting. I think that it is because June Faire is getting closer and closer. Everyone is excited and talking over each other. It can get frustrating, but this is how we do things here sometimes. We somehow still make it work, which always astounds me. 'It's a Mystery' rings very true in the SCA, at least in Dragon's Laire, that's for sure. :-) Actually, I should add the disclaimer that when needed, Dragon's Laire always comes together and makes things happen. It's one of our best strengths I think.

.....Now I'm getting too distracted, so I'd better direct my attention back to the meeting.

.....Wow! June Faire is going to be here before you know it!
