.....We wrapped up the Battery Conference by noon today. I thought that they might keep me around for side-bars this afternoon. But I had myself really well put together this week and was able to provide everything that was wanted in a timely manner as well as give acceptable ECD:s for everything on my Action Items listing. I was given leave, to leave, at lunch.
.....Most intelligent people had made arrangements to either a.) get a flight out on Thursday evening, or b.) get a hotel room within a short distance from the airport. I managed to do neither as I had things that needed to be done in Bloomington. I have a 5:30 AM flight out of Indianapolis tomorrow morning and an hour and a half run to the airport. It's going to be a short nap tonight I guess.
.....But I was determined to not pass up an opportunity and went to visit the Uber-Goddess Callista!!!! They live in a suburb of Indianapolis called Plainfield. I only got lost once, and only had to call her on the cell phone two or three times before I drove up to their house.
.....What a fantastic place! The driveway is like half a football field in length. A large grey rambler type with lots of porch. The yard was manicured within an inch of its life, like practically every lawn in Indiana. I think that they worship landscaping in Indiana as I would swear that every person in the state has their very own personal riding lawn mower. :-)
.....Callista met me at the front door with a huge hug and then we were joined by an enthusiastic Donnan for a tour of Casa Callista.
.....The entry is a two story open space where the upper floor balcony is open above the front door. I thought it was quite cool.
.....Ran into the William (or Callista, Jr.) who is a good foot or two taller than I saw him last. When did he grow into an adult!? The last time I saw him he was just a kid!? :-) He was there just a short time before being whisked off to an honours meeting. He's growing up into quite the talented man. An accomplished musician, with a brain to match. But I expected nothing less from the brain trust that is Donnan and Callista! :-)
.....Callista reminded me to throw my laundry into the washer (bless you, Callista, you are a life-saver. Ahhhh! Clean Laundry!!!). Then the next couple of hours flew by as I chatted with first Donnan and then Callista. Such cool people. I miss them.
.....They had a function to be at in the early evening and I didn't want to wear out my welcome too terribly much. I'll make sure and make better arrangements with them the next time I come to Indiana.
.....Need to finish packing and go to bed. It's going to be a long morning in just a few hours.
.....Aaron / Arontius.
