.....They know not what they do!!!!!

.....Umm, hmmm, when I think of J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Silmarillion,' I don't think I've ever thought of it in the context of a comic book. Not even really in the form of a graphic novel either. But someone has taken it in that direction.

.....WARNING: WHAT IS SEEN CANNOT BE UNSEEN!

.....Take a look at it here:

.....<http://spiegelscherben.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4ixkz6>

.....When I read the tragedy of the loss of the two trees of Valinor, the rending of Telperion and Laurelin, by the evil of Melkor and the giant spider Ungoliant, what I see in my mind's eye is not exactly the equivalent of what I see here. The next time I pick up my copy of The Silmarilion and read of this tragedy, am I going to instead see fuzzy headed troll dolls uttering colloquial American word phrases?

.....For some reason I'm rendered somewhat speechless by this artistic interpretation.

.....Um, Wow!

I really do agree with you that the particular rendering of the Silmarillion was ludicrous.

If publishing companies knew what was good for the world they would hire Gavin to illustrate books, he would be sooooo good at it. (Do I sound like a Mom?)
