Some Sonnetry For A Purpose.

.....So, I was asked to write a sonnet for someone whom I admire. I was flattered at the request. But as usual I am never happy with my own results. There is a huge and gaping depth of nothingness between my visions and dreams, and what goes on to the paper I try to translate those vision on to. Some day I'll find that Rainbow bridge. Hopefully, within my lifetime. :-)

The arms reach wide from Sol's departing bows,
His warm embrace remindful of day's gifts.
A blinding brilliance of his gloried vows,
Humility seen as the soul it lifts.

This land's protector stands in service tall.
A victory to all within his cares.
His courage bulwark from chill Evil's call.
His chivalry a mantle bright he wears.

A beacon guiding to a chalice gold.
He holds his lamp of goodness high above.
And gathers those about in shepherds hold.
A calm protector who will lead with love.

His duty sacred held he did not fail.
Has proven worthy of this holy Grail.
