arontius | Sonnetry For Achaxe.

.....Over the past month or so I've been practicing to re-learn some of my forgotten calligraphy skills. To do that I've been writing letters to people I like and admire around the SCA. I pull out a couple of pages of Bristol, pencil-line it for lettering, and then pick a hand to practice. Then write a letter using that hand. This week as a letter to Mistress Achaxe. This time though I penciled out a sonnet. As usual it could use some polish, as do the vast majority of what I write. But it came from the heart, which is my minimum standard. :-)

.....Saving it here; again, as I do with all my sonnetry. :-)

Those sultry eyes rose to shine through my soul
Long lashes captured me in sacred bliss
Her enigmatic smile did fill a hole
A healing I had not known was amiss.

I witnessed beauty which surrounded her
It flowed from crystal clear deep springs within
And cleansed with smudging of bright scented fir
A hero new to quell chaotic din.

Love's presence I then felt which also flowed
Compassion wrapped me in warm embrace
To help this poor fool carrying a load
Protective bonds of shielding giving grace.

She freely gives love's bounty to us all.
Our gift from heaven to help us stand tall.
