arontius.....20 Years Ago - 1987
.....In May I moved out of my parents' house. In June I went to my first SCA event, June Faire. My head was full of Arthurian Romance. Then I went to my first Shire Business Meeting in July. OH MY GOD!!!! The Shire had a freakin' three hour debate over the merits of purchasing fire extinguishers. I ran screaming into the night and did not go back to a Business Meeting again until 1991. I spent the next several years only going to June Faires and partaking in our own version of fight practice in the back yard forest, which consisted of quarter staves and no armor. OUCH! :-) In October I moved into a house in Port Orchard affectionally known as The Zombie Zone. There was myself, James Del Emrys, Richard 'Oaf' of Sussex, James' brother Loren, and Byron Heckenlively. Wow! What an adventure that was. And the alcohol. Eek!

.....The Barony of Dragon's Laire was imploding around the personality of 'She Who Must Not Be Named'. It was a very traumatic time for everyone. Many rats left the sinking ship of Dragon's Laire and played elsewhere for a while. Our household of the Spenser-Longfellow Trading Company was the only thing that was keeping me sane, but the personalities involved were already making things difficult at times. At work I had just started as a Hazardous Materials Coordinator. I was living in a tiny one bedroom home on 8th Street in Bremerton. The place that was stuffed to the ceiling with STUFF with tiny walkways throughout. :-)

.....5 Years Ago - 2002
.....This was a relatively slow year for me in the SCA. I was working The Flaming News at June Faire and helping run Ingasbo as a merchant. This was my second year in my house on Bridle View Place. The new household was getting off the ground as Consortio De Draconis. I was working as an Emergent Work Planner at work and spending all of my spare time trying to keep up with it.

.....I was starting my third year as Kingdom Chronicler and my second year as a Pelican. I had started going out with my dream lady, the Beloved Laurellen, and was amazed that she was really going out with me. I kept thinking that I was in a dream and it was indeed wonderful. I was now a GS-12 permanent at work and had just split off of Code 361 and started a new Code 392 to cover Non-Nuclear emergent work. It was a VERY frustrating time as their was no organization to the change and no support. Things haven't changed much since then. But at least I get to look forward to coming home each night to the Beloved Tamm. It makes the day bearable, that's for sure. :-)
