.....So, I'm reading the Society Board minutes, and I get to the part where the incomparable Marquessa Laurellen is given a 'commendation' for her recent nuptials. And for some reason I get the impression that I could have been some stuffed animal for all the Board cared, it was the fact that MARQUESSA LAURELLEN was now married that was making everyone gasp in amazement.

.....Am I feeling too insecure? Do I need to be slapped around awhile as a reminder of just how lucky I really am (well, no, not really, I *KNOW* how lucky I am to be married to the Beloved Tamm)? But I have asked to be thrown a bone every now and then, just to make me feel like I actually live. :-)

.....Hmmm, I should probably have caveated that. The Beloved Tamm is scarily smart. Those bones that she throws could hurt.... :-)

.....Aaron / Arontius.

I'm quite sure that if Master Garraed knew your name, he would have mentioned it. But since she's a direct report, that's probably all he had to go on.

Besides...there's something to be said for a level of relative anonymity...

The amusing part is
  1. her superior mentioned the wedding
  2. his doesn't

Kinda puts them in perspective, doesn't it? (large evil grin)

OMG. Don't egg him on. I keep telling him the same thing Freewaydiva said but he won't listen.

*I* think it's a compliment to you...he commends her on her nuptuals...which means he's commending her for having the good sense and where-with-all to marry *you*, Master Arontius. I think it's something to be commended...

I understand your feelings completely. When R and I got married, I got the "you're so lucky - you married R" routine. The comments did not come from as lofty level as your's, but the sentiments are very similar.

We all know who the lucky ones are! ;-D

You know how often I've been called "Mr Winnie".... (twice today alone!!)

Of course that's because so many cards are in your name, like the Safeway card and the Hallmark card...

H'okay, from the beginning hon.

She's beautiful, yes? Check.
She's brilliant, yes? Check.

She picked you, and even chose to keep you. That's got to tell you something. :)

You are a wonderful, warm, sweet, intelligent and funny guy. I was personally doing a little happy dance that you two had both found such a perfect match of wonderfulness.

SO snap out of it, 'cause if you need it I'd be happy to "slapped around awhile as a reminder of just how lucky I really am". ;)

Er, that should have been "slap you around around awhile as a reminder of just how lucky you really are".

I'm apparently not awake yet.

One-sided as it might be, wrong or right, the probability is this sort of thing you will find is going to happen semi-regularly.

What I see is that for some reason those who are magnificent at A&S tend to be in the limelight more than those who are magnificent at Administration-type Service.

Consider conversations such as: "Did you see that wonderful gizmo Master X made?"; which is heard more often than is heard: "Did you see the timely, efficient, necessary-for-the-Barony-to-keep-its-status Bookkeeping that Master X did?

Dude, you're a Pelican. That means you're not supposed to want credit for anything you do! ;-) You're also a Seneschal, which means that the only limelight is emceeing the Business Meeting. You want people to notice your existence? Do more bardic, then. ;-)
