arontius1. What is your SCA Name? Primary Registered - Arontius of Bygelswade. Alternate Registered - Justin Case.
2. What time and where do you portray? Best described as 'SCA Generic'. But when it matters, a smattering of Norse and a little bit of English during the time of the Black Prince. The Beloved Tamm is also branching me out into Rus as well.
3. In plain English describe your device. Primary - Gold backround with a winged serpent on it carrying a quill pen in its tail. And in a base area that is black a gold house cat facing out with two wings spread out readying for flight. Alternate - Red and black devided background with a silver winged cat seated on its hind end, all within a border of white with black ermine tails.
4. How long have you been in the SCA? 20 years, 7 months.
5. Do you have any special titles you have earned? Master (Pelican of the SCA).
6. What kingdom and local group do you belong to? Kingdom of An Tir, Barony of Dragon's Laire (proudly so).
7. Do you have preferred colors for your SCA Persona? Baronial colors of red and black.
8. What is your war that you look forward to going to every year? Estrella War!!!!!
9. Do you hold any offices? Currently, the Seneschal of the Barony of Dragon's Laire.
10. Favorite memory from an event? There are a lot of them. My first June Faire in 1987. Cooling off in the river at an An Tir/West War in Cavern's Gate. Meeting Amanda Kendal at 3YC. Watching Duke Tjorkill do a back flip in full armor at a Crown Tournament at Willamette State Park. Witnessing a full 1,000+ fighters on a battle field at my first Estrella War. Swearing fealty to THL Catelin. The Hawaiian Themed 'End-Of-Season' party at Hot Summer Lights (in my Hawaiian Print T-Tunic :-)). The dance demo I led at June Faire that resulted in my picture in the Bremerton Sun (Ouch!). My first event as autocrat (Candlemas 1996). My first June Faire as autocrat (2000). My first Kingdom Event as Autocrat Chairman (Twelfth Night 2004). Etc., etc., etc.
11. Are you a fighter? What kind? Yes. Rank Amateur!!!!
12. Are you crafty (making things)? A little. Certainly NOT an artist though. Just ask my friends :-).
13. Do you teach classes at events? I have, but not a whole lot.
14. Do you play instruments at events? I do when I can, it is a lot of fun. Mainly recorder.
15. Do you dance at events? Whenever I can. English Country Dance (SCA Style) is a helluva a lot of fun.
16. Do you feel that there is enough flirting and chivalrous behavior in the SCA? There is not nearly enough of either.
17. Are you a "Black Hat" or a "White Hat"? I'm not sure. I haven't heard these terms used in the SCA before.
18. What is one of the reasons you've remained in the SCA? The Arthurian Dream that permeates my soul. And my family of friends of course. :-)
19. What peerage(s) do you aspire to? Pelican.
20. Who was Crown when you joined the SCA? Their Majesties Dak and Lao.
21. If you are a Peer, who was the Crown that elevated you? Their Majesties Uther and Angharad.
22. Have you lived in more than 1 kingdom and which ones? I lived in Caid for a short period of time in 1999, in the Barony of Calafia.
23. Have you helped found a group? Sorta, the shire that formed in the Belfair area. It was very short lived though.
24. Have you had any house affiliations? Yup! The Spenser-Longfellow Trading Company and the Consortio de Draconis.
