Snow? Snow!
.....I'm now convinced that the News Channels in Seattle live on another planet. Yesterday, they are all talking about buckets of snow and closures and accidents and a whole bunch of nasty, nasty stuff. I get out on the road and see, at the most, a light powdery dusting.
.....This morning I turn on the T.V. and they talk about rain and, oh, maybe a few stray flakes and a few slippery roads. I walk out the door and WHOA, there are four inches of snow on the car! I can't see the road markers and everything is slick as proverbial snot! Maybe Bremerton needs to invest in a good T.V. Channel news for this side of the world. :-) Hmmm, I keep thinking that Radio June Faire would be kinda fun. Is this the year we make it happen? :-)
.....You know, Master Ralg has a whole bunch of radio equipment. We have people in the Barony who work on the cable network. The Flaming News may not have been a commercial success as a newspaper, but it WAS a lot of fun to do... Hmmm.... More to follow...
.....Sigh! It LOOKS like I finally got my promotion, but I STILL have NOT seen anything on paper. The big boss is starting to scare me too. He keeps referring to me as HIS planner, with a strange leer whenever he says it. I think that I'll keep my distance as much as possible. Although with as much work as he keeps piling on my desk, that may not be a big worry for a while. More to follow there as well...

Yesterday was pretty bad. The only time I left the house was when I had to go rescue my brother- his full sized van slid backwards and into a ditch. On the short trip to get him I saw a over-sized 4x4 truck and the newspaper delivery van in a ditch. Interesting times.
I'm actually at work today.

As far as Radio June Faire... now THAT's an interesting idea. Margret and myself have both been DJs for a genre-related Internet radio station, and while I can't speak for her, I know I'd probably find a way to block out 2-4 hours of airtime to do a show. And I recently found my FCC Educational broadcasting license in an old box of stuff from college. We could do "ad spots" for various demos, do profiles on peerage, a scandalous expose on the blasphemy of machine hemmed garb! Oh! The possibilities!

My house... 2 inches and the roads rather slick and snowing hard
Work.... almost nothing, roads bare and wet and raining
Distance (as the crow flies), less then 1/2 mile (and 300 ft of elevation)
Microclimates, indeed
Actually I was a DJ at the campus radio station, and (back then) had to have real FCC commercial license (that they no longer give, or renew, go figure)

Well, it would be fun to set up a 4 hour pre-recorded loop and broadcast it short-range. Maybe from, say, 8 am until 12 pm on Friday morning, for those waiting in line to get through Gate. Or include it in literture for the modern attendees to tune in on their way to, or way back from the Medieval Faire.
Obviously it couldn't be targetted to SCA attendees at the event itself. But then, I have no idea what Arontius had in mind, and this is my own wild tangential speculation...
