A New Highlander?

.....Considering how horribly bad, rotten, and disgusting the past couple of sequels have been, I don't know whether to be excited about this or afraid that it is happening...

"Highlander To Live Again

Summit Entertainment is developing a reboot movie of 1986's SF cult hit Highlander, with Iron Man co-writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway on board to pen the reimagining, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The original Highlander starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown as immortal beings battling among humans, hunting down one another and collecting more power. The film went out to spur several sequels and TV series, as well as games, books and other spinoffs.

Summit acquired the remake rights from Davis/Panzer Productions. Peter Davis, one of the original producers of the 1986 film, also will produce the new film."

.....Highlander is the only movie where I actually liked Christopher Lambert as an actor. It'll be interesting to see who they get to take his place. Somehow I doubt that Sean Connery is going to take part again. :-)

.....Just wait until they decide to do a remake of Knightriders! Be afraid! Be Very Afraid! :-)

Highlander

Be afraid be very afraid. A friend I met through the SCA does pro fight scenes. He started working on the 3rd season of the series and he did the movie where Adrian Paul kills Christopher Lambert. He refused to work on the movie with the post apocalyptic theme. I have heard nothing from him about working on another highlander movie.

After the first movie it all went down hill as far as the movies go. The series depended on which episode it was. Why do they always have to remake a movie that was good in the first place?

I know money but I am more inclined to see a remake of a show that bombed than a remake of a really good show. If anyone tries to remake Lawrence of Arabia I am going to have to express my displeasure.

The original Highlander was good, but like any Hammer Film Co. Dracula Movie, the movie keeps rising from the dead and needs to be staked through the Heart!!

Given an actual budget, Knightriders would be interesting to see . . . .
