.....Woo! Hoo! The October issue of The Crier was uploaded to the Idaho FTP site last night, along with the mailing label listing. That is issue number 25, only 11 issues left to go. :-)

.....Autocrats were especially bad this month. I received one piece of copy, for an October event no less, on September 8th along with much begging and pleading to make sure that it gets into the October issue. Not because of site issues or political issues, simply because no one on that autocrat team realized that they needed to get the copy in by the 28th of the month. I gave them some slack, but my successor is going to suffer big time if I keep allowing this to happen. I'm going to start having to wean people off of expecting to be able to get their copy in so late. That'll take just a little discipline on my part. The hard line attitude is working on the EIFs. People may send them to every address in The Crier but the correct one, but they ARE getting them sent in. :-) Be grateful for the small things. :-)

.....Mistress Nicolaa signed off my one year extension to be Kingdom Chronicler, so I'm technically all legal now. Although it was not OFFICIAL until my Crier Listings Deputy, Lady Gwendolyn of Castle Court, updated her listing to show 2007. Gwendolyn is a hoot! :-) She is sharp as heck and seriously persistent. The perfect person for the job. Wish I could do something to give her more exposure. She works hard and needs to be acknowledged more for her hard work. Will have to remember to write something up for her in the next issue.

.....'Ruminating' on what to do for Baronial Bardic. Having a tough time on picking something out to play on the recorder and gemshorn. I have lots of material, but documenting what I have will be difficult. 99% of it consists of modern arrangements of period pieces. I may have to do some tap dancing on this one. And I may still go back to something from Playford to play. Angharad told me last year that I should pick up on something a little more challenging. But the documentation is just as important. I'll have to make a decision soon.

.....On the other hand I'm getting excited about the dance portion of this. I've pretty much settled on a French Basse Dance. The plan being that I'll perform the dance and then go through it step by step and explain each step. Although I do prefer English Country and there are a couple of dances that I really love. Final decision will be made by this weekend.

.....Brighid thinks I should still do some sonnetry. I'm a little leary of that. It's such personal stuff that I have a hard time getting up in front of judges and explaining my thought process to them. Will have to 'ruminate' on this some more as well.

.....Fight Practice tonight. It's been three weeks since the last time I was in armor. It'll be another night of five minute stretches with total exhaustion in between. :-) Probably should get used to it. Or start working harder on getting into shape. Gotta be able to last for more then five minutes if I'm going to make it any distance on the warfields of Estrella. :-)

.....Totally looking forward to this weekend. Get to spend time with the most excellent and most beautiful Laurellen. Makes me incredibly happy just thinking about it. :-)
