.....I'm not necessarily a wedding enthusiast. Wearing a lot of dressy clothes and sitting through a ceremony are not things I normally like doing a whole lot. But, you know, there is something, special, about watching the wedding of Royalty in England. For one thing, you are looking at something steeped in history. The continuation of something that has direct connections to a World Event that happened almost a thousand years ago. It's rather cool.

.....Plus, I'm a big fan of British Royalty anyway. Well, maybe not Prince Charles. But definitely Queen Elizabeth and Prince William. :-)

.....I could not get tomorrow off from work though. Too many things happening, and I'm still trying to catch up from being away from my desk for four work days this last week. I'm reconciling the disappointment in my mind with the fact that I know a couple of people who are recording everything on their DVR's, so I'll be able to watch later. Plus, I'll catch a little of the aftermath tomorrow morning at around 4:30AM, when I normally sit down to breakfast and catch the early news.

.....Wish I could be in England to see it all in person. :-)

.....Still trying to decide what to do at the A&S Day Camp on Saturday. My initial inclination was to pack the Gemshorn and Recorder and play a little music. If I had thought of it earlier I would have e-mailed a few people to see if they'd consider bringing their instruments as well. Although maybe I could pack a handful of sopranos and the one or two altos I have in a bag somewhere? Then pass them out? Maybe I could get a little consort going for the day... Hmm...

.....Might pack some cards and threads, along with one of the frames and set up for some cardweaving. I have not done that in a while and it could be something I could put into a bag and pull around with me as a 'busy project' if it is on the small frame. I've got something on the frame, but it is in the wool-silk thread that I have not liked working at all. I may just pull it off and start over with a linen thread. I know we have a bunch downstairs in storage. And with the resident expert, Madrun, in attendance on Saturday, this may be the way to go.

.....Depending on who shows up, I may hit up some of the archery people to help with the archery section of the re-booted Serjeantry. Just to get their input as this is the weakest area of the Trials. The plan is to sit down with Master Andras, Master Cedric and THL Arion and discuss the tweaking of this portion, at some point in May. But things are going to be pretty hectic, so the more input I can get overall the better.

.....If some of the potential candidates are present on Saturday, it would be a great time to sit down with them and gage their preparations for submittal of their Letters of Intent at June Faire. TBT and I are hoping to sit down with each one and find out how their letters are progressing, who their support staff is, give them an idea of what to really expect with the process, and answer any questions they may have at this point. Which reminds me that I need to put out an e-mail on this topic.

.....I know that TBT has some projects in the hopper as well. Need to ask her about that. I saw the Baronial largesse bags on her Project Table downstairs. If she was thinking of putting them together on Saturday, I might get involved with that project. The bags look pretty cool, would make good largess bags, or maybe even cool prize bags for June Faire. It's all about the prizes for June Faire right now. :-)

.....I'm also itching to get started on the next silk banner as well. If I can secure the services of a projector for Saturday, I could get the elements of what I want on the next banner projected on a wall and then sketched on to some silk. I know that Talon has a projector. I believe that Anne has one as well. I'll have to see what kind of arrangements I can make in a hurry between now and then. I'll also need to see if I can sneak some time out of TBT's hectic schedule to serge a length of silk for me to use. We've got some left from our stash (five yards goes a lot further than I thought it would :-)). So I need to pull it out and make a cut on the remaining. If the right people are present on Saturday, I might even be able to get the first one sewn so that I can put it on a banner pole. Maybe I'll pack a pole and bar and fly the first banner to see how it looks.

.....Well, need to decide what to do fairly quickly. Don't have a whole lot of preparation time left. :-)

.....Lots of stuff going on these days. But the cool and amazing part is that I’m finally getting to a point to where I can see beyond the current mountain of ‘must get done’. It seems that from January until now every free second of time was absolutely filled with stuff that needed to be done now-now-now. It was getting to the point where the only way I could get by was to focus on the immediate task at hand and just make it by one item at a time. But with moving just about complete and September Crown rapidly approaching, I’m looking into October and seeing that things may actually slow down just a hair. Wow! :-)

.....Tonight is a retirement dinner for a friend at work. Going to start introducing the Beloved Tamm and Rhys to my office mates. I’m curious to see how Tamm and they interact. The Shipyard crowd is a little different than what Tamm may be expecting. But then, she has been exposed to a conservative bent while working in The Mint, so this may not be an issue in the slightest. Dinner is going to be at Puerto Vallharta in Port Orchard, so maybe Mexican food will distract Rhys long enough to not get bored to tears. :-)

.....Then it is off back to home to meet with Home Depot to get an estimate on window replacement. I’m facing this one with dread after our last encounter. Especially when I’m told that when Tamm called the sales lady to confirm the appointment, the ‘ONE HOUR’ appointment turned into a ‘ONE AND A HALF HOUR’ appointment. Gak! I think that we’ll all be prepared to physically throw this guy out the door this time is he starts any of the smarmy stuff the last salesman did.

.....The Beloved Tamm is working on this beautiful embroidered and appliqués cover for my gemshorn. It is exceptional (as with anything that the Beloved Tamm does). But a small part of me is a little uncomfortable. I’ve always felt that way when people have made me things for which I don’t actually pay or trade in something. I have never been able to wrap my head around the concept that an artist might want to make something for the joy of making it, rather then it being one more chore or assignment that they are doing on my behalf. I do know that I will love showing off the horn and telling everyone who made it. I’m one lucky guy and I know it. :-)

.....Saturday is all about cleaning up the house in Seattle. Then we’ll be done. At least one trip to the landfill and one to Goodwill. Then the good-byes. It’ll be a tough day. We’re at least going to see if Rhys can spend some time with friends. Maybe with Nimue’s family if they are going to be at home at all.

.....On Sunday I’m going to see if I can excavate Ingasbo downstairs. All the customers who had outstanding orders over a month old have chimed into me. A couple wanted refunds, but most said that they would hold out for a while yet. I at least need to clear a path to the workbench so that I can take an inventory of my stock and see what designs I have to get etched and sent to me. We’re also going to try and do a little organization so that Mom’s stuff is out front and everything is packed a little tighter. I think that we’ll also take a load of stuff to Mom’s.

.....Next week has Business Meeting on Tuesday. I think that either in September or October I will be taking over as Baronial Seneschal. I’ve been wanting to take on that roll for a long time now, and am looking forward to starting. I’ve got some ideas I want to try and can see some mentoring work on the horizon. I think that developing people will be my greatest challenge, and reward.

.....Family Night has moved to Thursdays. I did not think that through and look at my calendar before I agreed to that. The next Wyvern meeting is next Thursday. I am torn between negotiating Family Night back to Wednesday, or just not worrying about the Wyvern meeting at all. It’s not like it’s going to make that huge a difference if I’m there or not. I think that my angst comes from the fact that I’ve never missed a meeting more than the fact that I’d actually be missed or miss anything important. :-)

.....Baronial picnic the following weekend. Looking forward to that. :-)

.....Last week of this month has me tentatively scheduled for a trip to Georgia. We’re going to tour the site where we are planning to install a battery ShipAlt next year. I was rather looking forward to the trip, although I can’t seem to convince the Beloved Tamm to come with me. :-) I guess gators, heat, and humidity just aren’t very exciting. :-) Even if Disney World is only a handful of hours drive away. Just gotta make sure that I get back on Thursday so that I can get everything packed up for September Crown.

.....Gotta run. Everyone have a good weekend. If you are stuck in Seattle this weekend, avoid the major highways. They’ll be a mess with Seafair traffic!!!
