Breathe...Breathe... :-)
Jan. 23rd, 2007 06:43 amI was approaching the beloved Laurellen's Level 4 on the Wedding Plans at various stages yesterday. There are so many freakin' details on which to think. And getting a posse involved to help figure out how to do things sounds like a brilliant plan on paper, but what it means in reality is that you have even MORE questions thrown at you on which to think and come up with answers now, Now, NOW! :-)
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad of the help. Seriously I am. Means less for me to think about in the long term. But the overwhelmingness factor kicks in at times and I feel the urge to run screaming for the hills. :-) The one thing that is helping is to try and think of this as a regular little event in the works for the SCA. Not quite the same, I know (I'd love to be able to access the Baronial Coffers for one thing :-)). But whatever keeps me sane throughout this is good as far as I'm concerned. I mean, I'm still trying to grasp the fact that Laurellen actually said yes. :-) Wow!
Venues in Kitsap County are rather limited. They are either super expensive, not the right size, or look downright ugly. Ellen found a nice place over on Fox Island, but I'd sure like to find some place closer to home if possible. May have to settle on a place that'll dictate a smaller number of guests. Never thought I'd be worried about who is on the list and not on the list for invitees. Makes me feel rather snobbish.
Looking forward to a trip to Portland this weekend. Not the best timing, but the Shipyard gets blamed for that one. :-) All the cool people in Portland are headed up to Ursulmas. :-) Hope that Khalja and her PARTAY do not get into too much trouble. :-) But any chance to spend time with Tamm is worth it. I'm missing her very much since I didn't get to be with her last weekend. :-(
We have wood to buy. A trip to Powell's. A trip to the fabric store. I think that there was another item or two on that list, but I've forgotten at the moment. I do know that on Sunday we get to look at some cool rings. Of all places we found something nice at E.E. Robbins. I mean, with all those cheesey commercials on the radio, that was the last place I expected to find something I liked. :-)
I think that we're going to take Birdmatrix up on her offer to sing at the wedding. As well as Catelin Spenser. She does a killer rendition of Ave Maria. The mantra though is to keep things short, more time to party then. :-)
Short report today, gotta run. Take care.
Aaron / Arontius.
